Basmo was formed on 20th of Dec.1997 at Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Hall Jallandhar after the discussion of old and hardcore worker of BSP. All these worker felt that BSP deviated from their principal and choose the short method only for achieving the limited political goals. BSP sacrifice the whole movement for Mayawati. BSP supremo was only interested to give Mayawati chair of U.P. Chief Minster. For the sake of making Mayawati U.P. C.M. he shake hands with political party whom he himself termed as Sapnath and Nagnath. Sh.Satnam Singh Kainth was motivated by the Dr. Baba Sahib Ambedker philosophy during his collage life. Following the Dr.Baba Sahib Ambedker philosophy in his collage life he contested collage election of Central student council in 1979 and got elected for the same. President of Basmo Sh. Satnam Singh Kainth was the fonder member of DS4 and Dalit movement in Punjab. Sh. Satnam Singh Kainth was the first President of DS4 in Punjab During his tenure as President DS4 gained a lot of ground due to his endless work for the upliftment of Dalit Samaj.He remained the President of DS4 up to 1986 when Sh.Satish Bharti allegated Sh.Kanshi Ram by 9 point charter's. Sh Satish Bharti got registered DS4 and submitted the case against Sh.Satnam Singh Kainth and Sh.Kanshi Ram in the court of session judge Jallandhar. According to the order of Sh.Kanshi Ram Sh. Satnam Singh Kainth has to submit his written statement in session court jallandhar that in future they will not use DS4 platform because this party was got registered by Sh. Satish Bharti.After this Sh.Satnam Singh Kainth become the President of BSP youth wing in Punjab. During this period he worked restlessly to unite Dalit Samaj.He organized nukkared meetings, rallies and cadre camps in Punjab,Haryana,H.P.and in J&k also. Which gives Dalit movement a new meaning. Basmo President Sh. Satnam Singh Kainth fought his first election for assembly from Banga constituent in 1985 and got the 11906 vote for the first time. In 1989 he contested the election from Hoshiarpur parliament seat and got one lakh and eighty thousand vote and stood second. In 1990 he become the member of national youth council under the chairmanship of Sh. V.P.Singh P.M.of India and Sh.Chandershekhar P.M. of India for two year. In 1991 he contested the election from Hoshiarpur parliament seat but election was canceled due to the disturbed condition of Punjab. In 1992 Sh Satnam Singh Kainth contested the election from Banga for Punjab assembly and won the same and was elected as opposition leader of Punjab assembly. During his tenure as opposition leader in Punjab assembly he stood as guard for the interest of his Dalit Samaj. During this period he worked with Sh.Beant singh,Sh Harcharn singh Brar and Ms.Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.His tenure as opposition leader of house was historical. All the political and social circle and media person who covered the proceeding of assembly appreciated his role for the upliftment of Dalit Samaj as opposition leader. During this period problem of Dalit Samaj got due attention and was solved with utmost care due to personal attention given by Basmo president Sh.Satnam Singh Kainth.Mr. Satnam Singh Kainth exerted maximum mileage for BSP and BSP achieved maximum growth during this period and Sh. Satnam Singh Kainth become the unopposed leader of Dalit Samaj and downtrodden people. All the party person at that point was of the view that Sh.Satnam Singh Kainth is an assest for BSP and for Dalit movement in Punjab. In 1997 Punjab assembly election Sh satnam Singh Kainth was defeated by a narrow margin of votes numbering 503 and that too due to the wrong doing of some narrow and jealous BSP persons. In 1997 Kanshi Ram bring some so called leader by parachute in Punjab unit of BSP. These so called leader was not even enrolled as prime member of BSP. These person was imposed on real workers of BSP .Person like C.D.Kamboj become the president of Punjab unit of BSP, Avtar Singh Joga Gurbachan singh dhiman as vice president Punjab and many like minded rich feudeal and rootless people were given the charge of Punjab BSP. On 8th of August 1997 Sh.C.D.Kamboj called the meeting of BSP Punjab unit at Ludhiana circuit house and fired the Sh. Satnam Singh Kainth out of BSP without giving any reason, without issuing and show cause notice without any reason's Satnam Singh Kainth and his follower done their best to stop the splitting of BSP but Sh.Kanshi fails to take a positive decision under the pressure of feudal leaders. When all the efforts failed then Basmo National President Sh. Satnam Singh and his followers and like minded BSP worker took the decision of launching the Basmo.On 20th of December 1997 Basmo democrate was formed at Desh bhagat Yadgaar Hall at Jallandhar.At that point Sh.Satnam Singh Kainth have two option only first was to sit at home silently and second was to fight against the wrong doings done by so called rootless leaders against Dalit Samaj.Sh. Satnam Singh Kainth Know as die hard fighter opted for second one and his thought become the reality when those feudal and rootless leader left dalit movement but Sh.Satnam Singh Kainth still believe in pious principal laid down by Dr.Baba Sahib Ambedkar. Basmo emerged as undisputed party for Dalit Samaj in Punjab under the able leadership of Sh.Satnam Singh Kainth and he is marching ahead with his noble cause of upliftment of Dalit Samaj.
